These photographs are documentations of my family and the way they interact with each other and their environment. In late 2022 my family moved out of the house I spent my formative years in, due to university and work it took me over 6 months to properly visit the house for the first time. In this series I am surveying the house and environment with curiosity and fragility.
Some of the images in this series have been dyed and digitally scanned in with materials that represent the subject matter. For example the images above that feature coffee are dyed with the grounds that were leftover from the roast, also the images of the sheep have been soaked in the soil from the ground they live on.
The sheep represent family connections, while they are not my sheep nor do I have any relationship with them (outside of living near them) they symbolise a sense of community that should be strived for more in human existence. By re-contextualising the idea of livestockĀ I feel it gives this project a sense of relatability that this isn't a project purely about me, but the human experience as a whole.
